The name tells much about this surgery, Gastric Bypass

A gastric bypass first divides the stomach into a small upper pouch and a much larger, lower “remnant” pouch and then re-arranges the small intestine to allow both pouches to stay connected to it, what is basically does it reducing the size of your stomach and make the journey of the food shorter in your stomach to your body will not absorb all the galleries of that food.
